Toyua Watson-Bachus is the Superintendent of Concordia Parish Schools in Louisiana, where she has served for over five years with a commitment to equity, innovation, and student-centered leadership. With nearly two decades of experience in education, Toyua has held numerous leadership roles, including Principal, Assistant Principal, Secondary Director, Curriculum Specialist, and District 504 Coordinator. She currently serves as Tri-Regional Chair for the Louisiana Association of School Superintendents and is pursuing her Doctorate in Developmental Education with a concentration in Instructional Design.
A proud native of Ferriday, Louisiana, Toyua is a graduate of Northwestern State University. She is widely recognized for her collaborative leadership style, ability to inspire others, and dedication to creating learning environments where all students can thrive. Her leadership is rooted in service, community, and the belief that strong systems begin with strong relationships.
Beyond her professional work, Toyua finds her greatest joy in her roles as wife and mother. She and her husband, Maurice Bachus, are raising three amazing children: Anashia (20), Dawson (12), and Dyson (9). Her life and leadership are anchored in faith, guided by her favorite verse, 2 Timothy 1:7
