Dr. Stella Kemp joined AlphaBEST in Spring 2025, bringing over 35 years of service in public education. She has served as Superintendent of Schools in Santa Clara and San Bruno, California, leading fiscal recovery, strategic planning, and the creation of Portraits of the Graduate. As Assistant Superintendent of Business Services in San Ramon Valley Unified, she managed a $430M budget, developed a long-range facilities master plan, and guided multiple successful bond measures. Her leadership has spanned educational services, including assessment and accountability, special education and inclusion, teaching and learning, and afterschool programs. Dr. Kemp is recognized for closing achievement and opportunity gaps through programs of excellence, forging partnerships with local foundations and businesses such as YouTube to fund educational transformation. She also spearheaded Learning 2035, a roadmap to prepare 22nd-century high school graduates. Dr. Kemp holds a doctorate in educational leadership and advanced degrees in school administration, urban school leadership, and science education.
