Carolyn Wooster is the instructional specialist for elementary literacy in Alexandria City Public Schools; a northern Virginia school district serving more than 16,300 students who hail from more than 118 countries. She resides in southern Maryland, where she is also is the proud mother of two students of her own. Dr. Wooster received her bachelor’s degree in sociology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, her masters degree in reading education from the University of Maryland, and her doctorate of education in administration and supervision from the University of Virginia. She is passionate about implementing data-driven systems for accelerating student acquisition of foundational literacy skills while also forging interdisciplinary connections to inspire students’ deep literacy learning.
